Prima regista e produttrice di film di finzione, attiva nel periodo dell’invenzione del cinema, Alice Guy (1873-1968) è quasi scomparsa dalla memoria e dalla storia della settima arte. Come le sue opere, più di cinquecento, dimenticate, distrutte o attribuite a uomini, per meglio cancellare le tracce di questa impareggiabile pioniera.
The first director and first producer of fiction films, active at the time of the invention of the cinematograph, Alice Guy (1873-1968) has almost disappeared from memory and from the history of the 7th art. So did her works, more than 500 films, that have been forgotten, destroyed or attributed to men around her to better erase the trace of this incomparable pioneer.
