Safia torna in Corsica dalla famiglia per le vacanze, ma dopo avere confessato la sua omosessualità al padre, che non la prende bene, decide di tornare a casa sua in città. Lungo la strada incontra Jade, da poco trasferita in paese, che le offre un passaggio in macchina. Jade aiuterà Safia a liberarsi del disagio emotivo che porta dentro di sé.
Safia returns to her family in Corsica for the holidays, but, after confessing her homosexuality to her father who does not accept it, she runs away to return to the city. Along the way she meets Jade, who recently moved to the village and offers her a lift with her car. Jade will help Safia get rid of the burdens she carries inside.

Tina lives on a farm in the middle of the fields. She has recently lost her partner. In order not to leave her alone, her daughter stayed with her, but now she would like to return to the city. And before doing so, she makes an appointment with Seamus, who plans to visit her at the farm. But Tina decides to intervene.
MADELEINE

Ogni settimana, Raquel, una giovane immigrata brasiliana, si reca in una casa di riposo di Montreal a trovare Madeleine, che ha centosette anni, e cerca di convincerla a uscire. La donna si rifiuta, adducendo come motivazione il fatto che ormai ha vissuto la sua vita, e che non ha altro da fare e da vedere. Ma Raquel non si arrende e trova il modo di portare Madeleine al mare con una vecchia auto comprata a poco prezzo. Il viaggio, fra realtà e finzione, fra riprese reali e animazione, è una riflessione sulla vita e sulla morte e sulla certezza che c’è sempre qualcosa da imparare lungo il cammino.
Every week, Raquel, a Brazilian immigrant, visits her friend Madeleine who is 107 years old in her retirement home in Montreal and tries to convince her to get out of the house. The senior woman refuses: she has nothing else to do outside. Raquel doesn’t give up and finds a way to bring Madeleine with her on a road trip to the sea. The result is a journey that plays with reality and fiction, with real shots and animation, and brings a reflection on life, death and the certainty that there is always something to learn along the way.

Girato in soggettiva in un’unica sequenza, passiamo davanti ad edifici barocchi, attraversando incroci con semafori lampeggianti e sfrecciando su viali desolati. Questo remake contemporaneo del film “C’était un rendez-vous” di Claude Lelouch cattura le emozioni nello stato di emergenza causato dalla guerra e l’impatto che essa ha sulle relazioni di coloro che la vivono.
Kyiv in 2022. A high-speed race through the city at dawn. Filmed from a subjective camera angle in a single unedited shot, in a juxtaposition of grandiose baroque architecture, crossing intersections with flashing traffic lights and speeding down desolate avenues. This contemporary remake of Claude Lelouch’s film “C’était un rendez-vous” conveys the conflicted emotions felt by the present state of emergency, and the political climate’s impact on the lives and relationships of those living under its shadow.
MACARONI SOUP

A Hong Kong, una giovane donna straniera si innamora della cameriera di un caffè ristorante, ma la differenza linguistica divide le due ragazze. Per superare la barriera, la straniera cerca di imparare il cinese e torna spesso nel caffè, ordinando la “macaroni soup”.
A young woman falls in love with a waitress in a greasy-yet-nostalgic Hong Kong-style cafe, but a language gap divides the two. To overcome the barrier, the foreigner tries to learn Chinese and often returns to the café, ordering the “macaroni soup”.

Una ragazza sta visitando la città di Praga con l’immancabile macchina fotografica a tracolla quando, attraversando un giardino, si imbatte in un cavaliere con tanto di armatura medioevale a disposizione dei turisti per foto ricordo. L’incontro metterà in gioco entrambe.
A girl is visiting the city of Prague with her camera over her shoulder when, while crossing a garden, she comes across a knight in complete medieval armor who takes photos with tourists. The meeting will bring both into play.
MAMMA MAMMA

Diventare mamma è bello e faticoso. Questo secondo aspetto della maternità è completamente marginalizzato: è un tema di cui non si parla se non tra mamme in brevi scambi discreti ai giardinetti. Quasi fosse brutto ammettere che i meravigliosi pargoli siano anche fonte di stress ed enorme impegno. Il tutto in un contesto alieno al materno, in una società basata sull’azione finalizzata al profitto. Da qui nasce l’esigenza di rompere il silenzio e cominciare a narrare l’aspetto più duro della maternità, con la speranza di muovere un passo verso un cambiamento positivo.
Becoming a mother is beautiful and very tiring. This second aspect of motherhood is completely marginalized. It’s something we don’t talk about, except among mothers, in short, discreet exchanges in the playground. Almost as if it were ‘bad’ to admit that our wonderful little ones are also a source of stress and enormous commitment. All in a context alien to the maternal, in a society based on action aimed at profit. Hence the need to break the silence and to narrate the hardest aspect of motherhood, with the hope of taking a step towards positive change.

La realtà di una donna che sta per morire, costretta nel letto di un hospice, si alterna a quella parallela in cui finalmente si trova a danzare su un palcoscenico, il desiderio di tutta la sua vita. Anche l’infermiera diventa parte di questa performance visionaria, incarnando la donna da giovane. Attraverso il linguaggio metaforico del Teatro Danza, la donna rivive i momenti salienti della sua vita: l’innamoramento, la gioventù, la maternità, la sua maturazione come donna. Presto però la vecchiaia prende il sopravvento e la fine si avvicina inesorabile, finché, in un finale poetico e sospeso, la vita e la morte si uniscono in una danza di addio.

The reality of a dying woman, bedridden in a hospice, alternates with a parallel one in which she is finally performing on stage, as she longed for all her life. Even her nurse becomes part of this vision, incarnating the woman when she was young. Using the highly metaphoric language of dance theatre, she relives the important moments of her life: falling in love, being young, becoming mother, expanding as a woman. Soon the old age takes over and the end approaches inexorably, till in a suspended, poetic final, life and death embrace in a farewell dance.
