HAVA MARYAM AYESHA
Tre donne afghane di diversa estrazione sociale residenti a Kabul, devono affrontare una grande sfida. Tutte e tre sono in attesa di un figlio, ma non tutte lo desiderano. Hava, in gravidanza avanzata, è schiava del marito che la costringe ad accudire i genitori anziani e malati e l’obbliga a stare in cucina per ore a preparare grandi cene per fare bella figura con i suoi ospiti, che lei non può neppure incontrare, mentre poi deve andare a lavare i piatti fuori in cortile, al gelo. La sua unica gioia è parlare con il bambino che ha in grembo e che, dopo un incidente domestico, non sente più muovere. Maryam è una giornalista televisiva colta e indipendente, costretta a scontrarsi con il suo capo che le propone di lavorare come modella. Sta per divorziare dal marito che l’ha tradita e che pensa basti mandarle un mazzo di fiori per ottenere il suo perdono. In questa difficile situazione, anche Maryam scopre di essere incinta. Ayesha, una ragazza di diciotto anni, è rimasta incinta per errore e accetta di sposare il cugino, perché il ragazzo che ama è scomparso dopo avere saputo della sua gravidanza. In un paese in cui essere donne significa essere vittime di violenze e discriminazioni, Hava, Maryam e Ayesha si ribellano ai dettami della società patriarcale e cercano in autonomia una soluzione.

Three Afghan women from different social background, living in Kabul, are facing a big challenge in their lives. All three of them are expecting a child, but not all three want a child.
Hava, a traditional woman whom no one cares about, is living with her father and mother in law, while her husband rarely comes home. She is practically enslaved by her husband, who mistreats her and subjects her to constant corvées to satisfy his guests, whom she cannot even meet and for whom she has to cook and wash dishes in the courtyard. Her only joy is talking to the baby inside her belly. But after a domestic accident, she does not feel the baby’s movement anymore.
Maryam is an educated and independent TV news reporter, who argues with her boss because he offers her to work as a model. She is about to get a divorce from her unfaithful husband, who thinks that it is enough to send a bouquet of flowers to obtain forgiveness. Right in this moment she finds out she is pregnant. Ayesha, an 18-year old girl, accepts to marry her cousin because she is pregnant from her boyfriend who disappears after hearing the news. Before the marriage, she must have an abortion and regain her virginity. In a country where you can be victim of violence and discrimination only because of being a woman, Hava, Maryam and Ayesha rebel against the dictates of patriarchal society and solve their problem.
