MUMBLE MUMBLE
Mumble mumble è il “rumore” della mente che rimugina della protagonista, alle prese con una lettera che non riesce a scrivere e alla quale vorrebbe affidare il suo difficile coming out. Anche camminando la sua mente non smette di rimuginare, e i passi stessi diventano pensanti, insieme al pensiero ossessivo che la pervade. Cercando “il modo giusto per dirlo”, la donna ripercorre i momenti significativi della sua vita: la scoperta di sé e del suo orientamento sessuale, il sentirsi una “pecora nera”, il condizionamento sociale, la maternità, il rapporto col figlio. Alla fine, il travaglio mentale finirà e dichiararsi risulterà più semplice del previsto. Prima Italiana.

Mumble mumble is the “sound” of the protagonist’s brooding mind, while she struggles with a letter she cannot write and to which she would entrust her difficult coming out. Also while she is walking, her mind goes on brooding and her steps themselves become heavy, while obsessive thoughts pervade her. Looking for “the right way to tell it”, the woman traces the significant moments of her life, the discovery of herself and of her sexual orientation, the feeling of being out of place, the social conditioning, her motherhood, her relationship with her son. Finally, this mental retreat will have end and coming out will be easier than expected.
