REEL WOMEN SEEN
Il corto mette in scena la realtà che le donne devono affrontare nell’industria cinematografica e televisiva e al tempo stesso fornisce una dimostrazione del modo in cui trasformarla, perché questo modo è necessario, possibile e realizzabile. La storia è ambientata in vari set televisivi e la narrazione si dispiega attraverso una serie di brevi parodie: si passa da un poliziesco a uno sceneggiato con risate registrate, da un drammone medico a una serie web a puntate. Alla fine il cambiamento è possibile: l’ultimo set mostra un cast di donne che possono fare di tutto. Naturalmente la troupe è completamente al femminile. Prima italiana.

“Reel Women Seen” tells the story of the realities faced by women in the film and TV industry yet simultaneously depicts the necessary, possible and achievable ways to transform them. The story is set in common TV backdrops – from a police procedural to a sitcom (complete with laugh track), to a medical drama, to a webisode series. One continuous narrative unfolds through a series of brief parodies, ending with resolve for change. The project features an ensemble cast of women as widely diverse as imaginable. Shot in Vancouver and Toronto, has been supported by unions, guild, industry professionals and suppliers. Italian première.
